Giving Opportunities
Corporate giving to the Johnson School shows loyalty and commitment to our students and their education. We appreciate corporate support directed toward academic programs, Johnson School initiatives, student clubs and events, and unrestricted gifts which are used in every area of the school. Here are some of the many ways that your corporate gift can make a difference.

Unrestricted Corporate Gift to the Johnson School
Corporate Contribution of any amount
Why: Unrestricted gifts provide funding to all areas of the Johnson School, from faculty salaries, to student scholarships, to repairs and maintenance of Sage Hall. All of this is vital in providing the highest quality learning environment to our students. We welcome gifts of an unrestricted nature and will provide high visibility on printed materials, the school's website and the Corporate Partner plaque in Sage Hall.
Major School-Wide Initiatives
$100,000 to $1,000,000 Corporate Contribution
Why: Have greater impact with faculty and students at the Johnson School by enriching the curriculum and performance learning opportunities within the MBA program. Generate high-level corporate visibility among the entire Johnson School as well as the broader Cornell community. We invite your input in program planning of major school-wide initiatives. Corporate sponsors will be featured in Johnson School publications and press in addition to the attributes of the Corporate Partner Program.
Suggested Opportunities:
- Capstone Leadership Experience for the 2nd year MBA class
- Global Experience - to enable each MBA student to participate in study abroad, a global project, or international trek
- Global Simulation - involving the Johnson School and one or more international MBA programs in a global case competition
- Integrative Case Competition - a case competition for the entire first year MBA class following the core curriculum, presented to faculty and corporate representatives (Sponsor confirmed for 2009)
"Business Packages"
$12,500-25,000 Corporate Contribution (depending on program)
Why: Impact specific, targeted groups of students by enhancing their student life activities and career decision making. Generate visibility with a series of touch points in settings such as the classroom, symposia, specialized club events, and career passport programs. Opportunity to network and build upon previous interactions, and reach more students with increased relationship-building programs. Packages are customized to meet your corporate interests and needs. Package participants will be considered sponsors for all events that are part of the package, and will receive recognition on websites, programs and at events. Suggested Opportunities:
- Business Diversity Partners ($25,000/$15,000/$12,500) - 4 to 8 touch points involving MBA and undergraduate business students. Touch points include participation in programs such as (but not limited to):
- Managing Inclusion workshop during orientation
- Johnson Means Business - our diversity student recruiting weekend
- Destination Johnson - diversity reception at our admitted student weekend
- Black Graduate Business Association (BGBA) symposium
- Hispanic American Business Leaders Association (HABLA) case competition
- Women's Management Council (WMC) Trek
- Undergraduate Diversified Business Forum
- International Package ($10,000) - 3 touch points involving MBA students with an international focus. Touch points include participation in programs such as (but not limited to):
- Executive Speaker in a class, highlighting an aspect of global business
- Host a business etiquette session or cultural orientation for the Johnson School's international students during first year orientation
- Speaking opportunity in a student program such as the South Asian Business Club speaker series
- Support for an international internship experience
- Incoming Students Package ($25,000) - 4 touch points involving our incoming first year class and the Accelerated MBA program. Touch points include participation in programs such as (but not limited to):
- Participation during first year MBA Orientation by hosting a lunch, picnic, or activity
- Participation during the Accelerated MBA Orientation by hosting a session presented by the Career Management Center, a picnic, or student activity
- Featured sponsor of the Johnson Outdoor Experience (JOE) overnight team-building retreat for all incoming students.
- Featured Sponsor of Destination Johnson with participation at all activities of the admitted student weekend
- Opportunity to host an admitted student admissions event in your location (space + light refreshments requested)
Initiative or Event Sponsorships
Why: Choose one activity or assemble a collection of programs and give your company visibility at selected Johnson School initiatives and student events. Levels of participation and corporate representation vary by event and corporate contribution. Students plan and organize many of these activities; your participation gives your company a connection with the student organizers as well as networking opportunities with the attendees from the Johnson School community and beyond, and emphasizes your commitment to them and the school. Sponsors will be recognized by event.

FALL OPPORTUNITIES
- Orientation Welcome Picnic (Sole sponsorship $10,000) - The first event of the school year on August 26, 2009 to welcome first year students to the Johnson School and to welcome back second year students. We cannot invite corporate representatives to the picnic, but we assure corporate visibility.
- Johnson Outdoor Experience "JOE" (Sole sponsorship $10,000) - An experiential leadership and team building weekend event held during MBA orientation. The corporate sponsor is invited to send a representative to the program. (Sponsor confirmed for 2009)
- Mosaic Picnic (Sole sponsorship $5,000) - A welcome event open to all students of the Johnson School with specific focus on Diversity and Inclusion. We cannot invite corporate representatives to the picnic, but we assure corporate visibility.
- Johnson Means Business ($10,000-$40,000) - The School's minority prospective student weekend held in October welcoming 40 prospective students to experience the Johnson School community. Corporate representation may include specific meals or events and/or featured corporate panelists and participants. Also interact with current students who are involved in planning the weekend program
- Career Management Center ($5,000) - International Student Accent Reduction Program provided to teach standard English pronunciation to our international students
SPRING OPPORTUNITIES
- Destination Johnson ($5,000-$60,000) - Participate in our weekend-long admitted students yield event, held in April. In 2008, there were 189 admitted students in attendance. Corporate representation may include specific meals or events, and/or featured corporate panelists and participants depending on level of sponsorship
- Immersion Learning Courses for first year students ($5,000 - $10,000)
- Managerial Finance Immersion
- Investment Banking Immersion
- Capital Markets and Asset Management Immersion

YEAR-LONG OPPORTUNITIES
- Thursday afternoon Sage Social Sponsorship ($3,500) - Opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to interact in an informal setting such as happy hours, potluck dinners, or small group discussions
- Admissions Events - Host an event at your corporate location, domestic or abroad. Corporation to provide space and light refreshments. First preference to host an admissions yield event is given to our Corporate Partners
- Unpaid/Not-for-Profit Internship Support - Support for students who do unpaid internships for non-profit organizations or work on projects for the Johnson School
- Scholarships/Fellowships ($5,000 minimum) - Merit-based or need-based awards that provide your company with a student ambassador on campus.
- Naming opportunities within Sage Hall: Library Carrels ($10,000): Faculty Offices ($125,000); Seminar Rooms ($250,000); Executive Classroom ($500,000), Management Library ($3-5 million)

Johnson School Centers $10,000 to $1,000,000 Corporate Contribution (depending on program)
Why: The Johnson School's Centers help to build reputation for the school by generating leading-edge research and scholarship, integrating theory and practice, and delivering knowledge through tailored educational programs and consulting. Corporate sponsorship furthers these efforts and gives your corporation opportunities for engagement within the Center. Each Center has its own initiatives that your company can be involved with.

- The Parker Center for Investment Research
- Participate in the annual MBA Stock Pitch Competition
- Invest in improving the air conditioning system
- Give a gift-in-kind of software, hardware, or classroom equipment or contribute toward upgrading existing equipment
