The Johnson School Difference

Academic Programs

Our premier Ivy League general management program simulates a high-performance workplace where students learn to navigate the world of unpredictable change so that they can create, transform, and sustain successful organizations-make a real impact.

Two-Year MBA
Our curriculum for first-year students rests on two principles: a strong analytical foundation in key functional areas and an academic flexibility that enables students to tailor their program to their interests. Our immersions set our students apart. Taken in the second semester of the first year, students obtain focused, hands-on learning experiences in brand management, operations, investment banking, finance, entrepreneurship and private equity, capital markets and asset management, sustainable global enterprise, or a customized option. This focused approach means our students arrive to their internships better prepared to make an immediate impact.

Accelerated MBA
A one-year MBA designed specifically for individuals with advanced degrees, leadership potential, and strong quantitative skills. Accelerated MBA students begin in May and complete the Core classes over the summer. They then join returning second-year students and graduate the following May.

Cornell Executive MBA
Designed for mid-career managers, executives, and senior professionals, classes are offered on alternate weekends (Saturday-Sunday) at the IBM Palisades Executive Conference Center near New York City.

Cornell-Queen's Executive MBA
In partnership with the Queen's School of Business in Canada, this program is currently offered in New York State, Ohio, Washington State, Oregon, Washington, D.C., and across Canada. It features a combination of on-campus residential sessions and multi-point interactive videoconferencing-based boardroom sessions held approximately three Saturdays per month.

PhD Program
Intellectual capital is the R & D of a dynamic business world. The Johnson School PhD offers select students in-depth study via a flexible, tailored program in accounting, finance, management and organizations, marketing, production and operations management, managerial economics, or quantitative analysis for administration. The program is small, with about 30 students in residence at any given time. Most pursue careers in teaching and research.
